Sukin Certified Organic Rosehip Oil Review (1)

What was a world before rosehip oil?

In recent years facial oils have taken over the skincare market and have made profound differences to people’s skincare regimes. There’s facial oils out there for everyone, from those with the driest of dry skin to those with the oiliest (yes, you can still use oils on oily skin) they are an essential which you should start including into your routine if you haven’t already.

Sometimes searching for a facial oil that will work with your skin, as well as target your problem areas, may seem never ending, but I’m here to tell you that rosehip oil IS the saviour that you’ve been looking for.

There are a number of rosehip oils out there, but none have repaired my skin as wonderfully as the Sukin Certified Organic Rosehip Oil has, so lets talk about it.

TL;DR

Pros:

+ Reduces pigmentation
+ Hydrates skin

Cons:

– Some users dislike the smell of the oil

Overall:

4/5 ★★★★☆
With long term use we saw improvements in the reduction of scars, but had to be fairly consistent with application.

Sukin Certified Organic Rosehip Oil Review (2)

This rosehip oil has a list of impressive ingredients that are made to help rebuild and hydrate your skin. *Rosehip oil* is a natural product that is full of vitamin A, B and C as well as essential fatty acids, which helps to fill in fine lines and wrinkles and rejuvenate skin cells to reduce the appearance of scars and pigmentation.

The Sukin Certified Organic Rosehip Oil has won several awards, including winner of Best Natural Skincare product in beautyheaven’s 2019 Glosscar Awards and an editor’s choice award (so don’t just take my word for it!). This product has multiple uses as it hydrates, softens and soothes your skin, while also reducing the appearance of scars and redness and combats the appearance of aging. The versatility makes this an essential in every skincare routine.

Our Sukin Certified Organic Rosehip Oil Review

Reduced acne scarring

When I first learnt about rosehip oil I was on the hunt to find the BEST possible one that would clear my acne scarring. From the left side of my nose, under my chin and around to my right nostril, I had scars upon scars left over from all the pimples I popped in high school that I never thought would go away.

A friend of mine had been raving about how his skin had cleared up after using the Sukin skincare range so, I decided that my next rosehip oil attempt would be the Sukin one and now it is all I recommend.

When I started using this product my scars were around 1-2 years old, and around less than a year later, I really noticed that they were hardly there anymore. Sukin pride this product on its ability to reduce scars, so depending on how old your scars are, give it a go and give it time. With consistent use my scars have disappeared, and when I do have a pimple, I find it rarely leaves a mark. I only use this product at night, but if my skin is having a rather rough week, I opt for using this oil as a spot treatment in the morning to really target any scarring or pimples.

It’s a drastic change that happened over time, however I still use this product for all of its other benefits.

You can also use this product to minimize the appearance of stretch marks or to prevent them e.g. if you’re pregnant, as well as other scars aside from acne.

Skin Hydrating

My skin type is normal to dry, but more often than not it’s more towards the dry side. This is why I find this product a perfect extra layer of hydration on my skin, as it’s a thin texture that is fast absorbing, so it doesn’t leave a nasty greasy feeling when I add any moisturizer on top.

After wearing this overnight, my skin feels smooth to the touch and it looks visibly hydrated. The essential fatty acids work to make your skin look plump and full, giving you a youthful glow.

You can also use this oil on dry parts of your body to hydrate and moisturize. I use this on my elbows and hands and they have never been smoother.

To my oily skin friends, don’t be afraid to try this product. It will really benefit your skins hydration levels and, you can use this product on its own. Yep. No moisturizer. Friends of mine with oily skin often complain about that greasy feeling after putting on moisturizer so they often opt not to, but this product can replace your moisturizer and will feel so much lighter on the skin. It also will not increase breakouts, as the vitamin A aims to combat any type of acne. This product dries quickly onto the skin while being deeply nourishing, so try using this oil instead and see what it does for you.

Reduces the appearance of pimples

Because rosehip oil can reduce hyper pigmentation and has anti-inflammatory properties, my pimples lack that angry red look and often reduce in size if I wear it overnight. In the morning my pimples look almost flat, which is nothing that a little makeup can’t cover. A pimple will still look like a pimple unfortunately, but the redness that surrounds it becomes almost non-existent.

If I have popped a pimple, I once again use it as a spot treatment to diminish the redness, which will usually lighten and fade by the next couple of days, but also softens any scabbing that may have occurred and will disappear and fall away on its own, lessening the chances of scarring.

Final Thoughts about Sukin’s Certified Organic Rosehip Oil

Overall: 4/5 stars.

It’s reasonably priced

With the 50mL bottle being $40, and the 25mL bottle being $27, this is amazingly affordable for a product that goes above and beyond. A 50mL bottle will last you forever, even if you use it on other areas of your body. When you consider all the problem areas and all the benefits that this one product targets, it’s a no brainer! I know a number of high-end brands with astronomical prices that do not compare with this product AND you can find Sukin in your local Priceline or Chemist Warehouse, so you’re not trekking far and wide nor having to wait for an overseas delivery.

It’s easy to use

This product comes in a glass bottle with a handy dropper to make it easy in getting the right amount of product you need and is non-greasy or sticky.. The recommended usage by Sukin in 2-3 drops 1-2 times daily, or when required. You use this product after you’ve cleansed and toned your face and before and moisturizers. This will allow your moisturizers to lock in the rosehip oil and boost the hydration. It can also be used alone if preferred.

Sukin is an ethically great brand

As a company, Sukin is a sustainable brand. They are carbon neutral, meaning the aim to reduce the environmental impact that their brand makes and do so by having recyclable and biodegradable packaging. They are vegan and cruelty free and made with all natural ingredients in Australia. On their website they provide a list of ingredients that they do not use and a list of the natural ingredients they do use. Overall, this is highly impressive for an affordable Australian brand.

Alternatives To Sukin’s Rosehip Oil

If you’ve dabbled with the Sukin Organic Rosehip Oil before, there are others that are at par with it that are also reasonably priced and work like a treat.
